CNY 2010: Day Two

Woke up at 9.30am today and had Roti Canai again. This time, it wasn't that nice. After that, I showered and waited for the rest to get ready. At about 10.10am, we left the house and drove to Rasa (GM's hometown).

It took us about an hour to get there. Then, we went to visit one of GM's sibling in her house for about half an hour. After that, we drove on to visit another sister of GM. Every year, most of the extended family would gather there.

Outside the house, there are Chicks and Chickens,

Chicken eggs and golf balls,

Dragonfruit plants,

Sugarcane,

Ciku,

Starfruits,

and Coconuts!

This year, quite a few people didn't make it but there house was still very noisy. At 12.45pm, all of us went out to a nearby restaurant and had lunch there. We occupied 4 tables and ordered quite a lot of food.

Our lunch!

The bill (super hard to read!)

The food there were actually quite good. And for so many of us, the total bill was only RM 395.70! After lunch, we went back to the house and hung around for a while more. They also paid some people to come "Lion Dance" in the house and point out some "numbers".

At about 3.30pm, we made our way home. Finally got home an hour later and that was when WM and family came up. All of the "kids" had to wish her three CNY wishes before she gave us our ang pau!

When all of them went home, everyone in our family took turns to shower while all of us finalized our stuff. Then at 7.30pm, I drove to SS's house with GM and E while the others drove to KLIA to check in.

Once we reached SS's house, SS and LC got into the car. SS drove us to KLIA and dropped E and I off. We said bye to them and went to meet mum and the rest of the family. They went to McD but there were too many people there.

So, we went down to Burger King instead. It was already 9pm and quite late for dinner. Despite that, I still ordered a Whopper Jr. After we gobbled our dinner, all of us went through the immigration counter and walked to the departure gate.

Whopper Jr - RM 7.30

The guard stopped us and told us that E's bag had a scissors inside. E brought it along to do some craft work but the guard wouldn't less us bring it with us. So in the end, we left the scissors with him and walked on.

KLIA's free WiFi was working fine until the moment I stepped foot into the Gate 9! We then waited for the announcement that told us to board the plane. At about 10.15pm, all of us got into the plane and it took off.

the Colourful seats

Once the plane was up in the air, the stewardess started giving out food. Since M and J both ordered the rice dish, I ordered Roti Canai just to take a picture of it. The roti was terrible but I liked the Ferrero Rocher.

Supper in a box!

Roti Canai with Chicken Curry

Fish with Rice

Ferrero Rocher

Guava Juice and Orange Juice

When everyone was done, the stewardess collected our junk and gave us an angpau each. Out of the 70 packets, 3 were special while the rest had chocolates shaped like coins. The three people with the special packet would get some chocolate of higher quality (some famous name that I forgot). Unfortunately, none of us were that lucky. =(

At exactly 12am, the plane touched down and stopped in Kuching International Airport. We took our bags and went through the immigration. Then, we took our luggage and waited for KK and PP to come pick us.

By the time we got back to their house, it was already close to 12.30am. I then took off my contacts and went upstairs to unpack. Tried dad's Celcom 3G Internet and surprisingly, it works. It's almost as fast as our home connection!

So I wrote this post till now (2.20am) but the post is still not complete. Will try to upload the rest of the pictures tomorrow. For now, I need to sleep. Good night everyone...
